While one of our guests joked that we should call ourselves Jepun
Bali Villas due to the large number of Frangipani trees in
our grounds, we once considered calling ourselves Lotus Villas
Bali because each of our large 3 bedroom villas are built over
lotus / fish (coy carp, etc.) ponds. Here you can see just that.
As well as doing this to provide elements of Feng
Shui (peaceful, water settings), it is also done to control insects.
You see, the easy / standard way to control insects is to use
chemicals, but we don't do that at Agung Bali Nirwana. We simply
built the villas over beautiful, relaxing ponds which are rich
in Coy Carp and other brightly coloured fish (which like to eact
insects and their larvae). At the back, just obscured by a palm
tree, the water is pumped back and gently falls back into the
main pond area, reminiscent of the small waterfalls used in Balinese
rice fields. This action, plus the 3 tier stone fountains that
grace the private dining bales, keep the water aerated and healthy. To see 360 degree virtual tours of our villa grounds and villa interiors
